Thirty years as announcer and right hand man of the undisputed king of late-night television, has made Ed McMahon a house-hold word. Ed first began working with Johnny in 1958, with the game show "Who Do You Trust?" McMahon also served as co-host, with Dick Clark, of "TV's Bloopers and Practical Jokes" on NBC, and "Star Search."

Ed was born March 6, 1923, in Detroit where, as legend has it, he was almost named "John." The doctor and midwife attending the birth reported that, upon delivery, the newly born Ed announced, "Heeere's Johnny." Boy were they surprised.

He was raised in Lowell, MA and attended Boston College and Catholic University, majoring in speech and drama. McMahon is a Marine Corp veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He got his first broadcasting job at WLLH in Lowell and began his television career in Philadelphia.

Ed lives in Beverly Hills with his wife Pamela. His children are Claudia, Michael, Linda, Jeffrey and Katherine Mary.
