We stumbled across this nice excerpt from Andy Friendly's forthcoming memoir, "Willing to Be Lucky: A Life In TV". Andy Friendly, is the son of CBS television pioneer Fred Friendly. He headed production at King World and primetime programming at CNBC and produced shows such as Entertainment Tonight. The excerpt, while brief, is a rare look into Andy and Johnny's son Rick's friendship and their early days hanging out and working on Tomorrow with Tom Snyder. Andy talks about playing tennis, swimming and playing drums with Johnny at his home and his friendship with Rick. It's a good read and a rare insight into Johnny's life off camera. We hope more details will be announced soon about the release of Andy's memoir. Here's a link to the article.

A sad but lovely tribute to Rick Carson. Will you guys ever put out the full episode of Johnny returning and giving that classy tribute to his son?
